Railroad Depot:Contributing
From Railroad Depot
We encourage you to contribute information to the Railroad Depot site by creating pages for any railroad related topic. If you want to share information about your favorite railroad, your model railroad club, or anything else railroad related, you can follow the steps below to get started.
Getting Started
Before you create a new page on our site, we ask that you first search for your topic. Check the search results to make sure there is not already a page for your topic. If you do not find any information about your selected topic, follow these guidelines to create your new page:
- Prototype Railroad: Use the railroads AAR Reporting mark for the name of the page. One of our System Operators will change the page name to the full name of the railroad. Examples:
- Burlington Northern Santa Fe will have the page name of BNSF.
- Norfolk Southern Railroad will have the page name of NS.
- Railroad Club: Use the full name of your club as your page name. If your club name has an & in it, change it to and for the page name. Examples:
Special Notes
You should remember that the Railroad Depot is an open collaboration of information, and your page may be modified and expanded on by other users. This open collaboration allows all of us to learn more by sharing. If you have questions about a prototype railroad, feel free to include those questions on your page. When another member who knows the answer sees the page, they will be able to add information.
