The La Crosse & Three Rivers Railroad Club, Inc. ("the club"), an HO Scale Modular railroad club, is based in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Our club house is located just south of La Crescent, Minnesota in a newer building with a new concrete floor and an oil heater to provide constant heat. It serves as storage for our layout while we are not at shows, as a place where meetings are held, and as an area for module construction and layout maintenance.

[edit] Club Purpose

The purpose of our club is to increase the satisfaction of its members and to further public knowledge and interest in the hobby of Model Railroading. New members are always welcome to attend any regular meeting. The club is strictly a modular club using simple NMRA standards. All modules are 6 feet in length, or multiples of 6 feet and up to 36 inches wide. Mainlines are set in 4 and 6 inches from the viewers side, and simple wiring runs under each module. We have the ability of setting up our layout in any number of configurations, including L-shaped with a specially designed corner. Club members are responsible for the materials for their own modules, and are encouraged to help in constructing new modules with either the club or other members.

Several of our modules are part of a "scene" where two or more modules are combined to cover a larger area. We also have a number of single modules to fill in the gaps where needed. Most of the modules that constitute our layout belong to the individual members. The club owns the corners, the center yard, and a few other modules including our newly rebuilt town module. In 1997, the club finally built new corners for the layout, all of which will have hand laid track. One of these corners has a hand laid crossover with a #13 turnout on the inside main and a #16 on the outside main.
